What Subscriber Sessions & Playback Control does
Subscriber Sessions & Playback Control manages entitlements, active sessions, and device registration for every subscriber, enforcing concurrency limits so a household plan doesn't quietly become an unlimited share. Every playback request is authorized against those entitlements, with a stream token generated and a DRM session validated before content actually starts.
User profiles sit on top of the same session layer: a household can run multiple profiles, each with its own watch history, favorites, and parental controls, while REST, GraphQL, and BFF APIs expose entitlement and session state to every client application.
