What NPVR & Catch-up TV does
NPVR & Catch-up TV gives every subscriber a personal cloud recording, without a physical set-top box hard drive to manage. Live TV includes pause and restart controls on top of standard adaptive bitrate streaming, so a subscriber who joins a channel mid-program can jump back to the start without waiting for it to air again.
Catch-up TV extends that same replay window across the schedule, keeping every aired program available for seven to thirty days after broadcast. The Catch-up Processor in the headend generates replay assets automatically as programs air, so catch-up availability doesn't depend on a separate manual encoding step.
