Collision Avoidance fuses lidar, radar, and vision across every vehicle to build a continuously updated protective bubble around it, detecting other vehicles, light vehicles, personnel, and pit hazards in every direction. The system doesn't just flag proximity, it classifies what it's detecting and how it's moving, so a stationary rock and a person walking toward a haul road trigger very different responses.

Because the same perception stack runs on autonomous and crewed vehicles alike, mixed-fleet operations get a consistent layer of protection instead of relying on driver attention alone in some vehicles and automated braking in others. Alerts and interventions scale from a cab warning to a full stop, matched to how close the risk actually is.
